| New Chief Executive appointed at HRB | Mr Enda Connolly will take up position as Chief Executive at the Health Research Board in mid June. Enda Connolly will bring more than 30 years experience from IDA Ireland. During this time he has spent more than 20 years in senior management positions and had a pivotal role in leading change, developing strategy, building stakeholder confidence and securing significant foreign direct investment. He had a significant part in devising and successfully implementing a new strategy for science, technology and innovation both within the IDA and at a national level and has also been at the forefront of driving and implementing change in the IDA's business activities.

| Launch of Molecular Medicine Ireland | On 17th April 2008, the Presidents of the NUI Galway, University College Cork, University College Dublin, the Provost of Trinity College and the Registrar of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland launched Molecular Medicine Ireland. Molecular Medicine Ireland is a charitable company whose primary aim is to coordinate collaborative projects in biomedical research, and hence strengthen Ireland's global profile in health research. |
