CANCER GENOMICS MASTERCLASS on the 04-Dec-2008

Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance Graduate Programme
Thursday 4 December 2008
Venue: Institute of Molecular Medicine, St James's Hospital & TCD

As part of the Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance Graduate Programme, Trinity College Dublin is hosting a Cancer Genomics MasterClass on Thursday 4th December 2008. A high quality programme of international speakers with significant representation from the National Cancer Institute in Washington will provide a MasterClass on the latest developments in Cancer Genomics (Programme attached). The format of the event will be a series of talks by the invited experts together with a critique of posters selected from abstracts submitted by participants in the workshop. A limited number of abstracts submitted will also be selected for oral presentation. This MasterClass represents an excellent opportunity to hear the latest advances in this rapidly growing area from acknowledged international experts in the field, it provides an opportunity to meet with these experts in a workshop setting and it has the added advantage of expert critique of your work and advice from our distinguished faculty that we have assembled for the MasterClass.

While the MasterClass is orientated towards PhD, MD students and postdoctoral fellows, Principal Investigators are also encouraged to attend as the quality of the invited Faculty makes this an event not to be missed! Although the MasterClass is in the area of Cancer Genomics, it will also be of interest to those who are involved in genomics research in other diseases, as some of the technological approaches that will be presented and discussed at the MasterClass are relevant across the disease spectrum where there is a genetic component.

This initiative is part of the Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA) graduate strand funded by cycle II of the Strategic Innovation Fund
