Launch of Molecular Medicine Ireland on the 17-Apr-2008

On 17th April 2008, the Presidents of the NUI Galway, University College Cork, University College Dublin, the Provost of Trinity College and the Registrar of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland launched Molecular Medicine Ireland. Molecular Medicine Ireland is a charitable company whose primary aim is to coordinate collaborative projects in biomedical research, and hence strengthen Ireland's global profile in health research.

The formation of Molecular Medicine Ireland was funded by the Government's Higher Education Authority under the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions Cycle 4. Molecular Medicine Ireland replaces the Dublin Molecular Medicine Centre which, since 2002, has coordinated the biomedical research activities of Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
