Bioinformatics and analysis of microarray data Prof Des Higgins, UCD

Gene expression microarrays are used to generate data on the expression of many genes in a biological sample. This results in a flood of data with many variables (genes) and few cases (arrays). This results in analysis problems that require special attention to choice of statistical methodology. I will focus on the use of arrays for disease diagnosis and the use of multivariate analysis (e.g. principal components) techniques.
