Having
trouble keeping up with the literature in your field, never mind
developments in related disciplines? Wondering why you need to?
Having difficulties presenting your experimental data in a way that
you feel has a good chance of being accepted for publication? Need
some tips on how to deal with referees criticisms?
Spend
an afternoon with an established investigator with over 100 published
papers, who will give you the benefit of his experience. Bob Millikan
is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the
University of North Carolina. He is currently at UCD on a Fullbright
Scholarship. Bob teaches a similar course to grad students in the
University of North Carolina.
Participants
will have the opportunity to hone their writing skills in small
groups, and are encouraged to bring an example of their own scientific
writing. In order to help generate discussion the audience is limited
to 40.
